About
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Forensic Science, Bachelor of Laws, and Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Newcastle. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and High Court of Australia.
Ashley focuses his expertise on Family Law disputes where his interest and experience includes:
- Property division – including matters involving third party interests, corporate entities, taxation, valuation, and superannuation issues;
- Spousal maintenance;
- Child Support;
- Parenting cases – including international and interstate child relocation; and
- Appeals to the Full Court.
In 2020, Ashley became a nationally accredited mediator and accepts briefs to mediate both parenting and property disputes. In 2021, he became a qualified Family Law Arbitrator and is available to determine property disputes on both an interim and final basis.
Ashley is regularly invited to present papers at seminars and conferences and is periodically invited by the Newcastle University Law School to guest lecture in Family Law Practice, Evidence, and Courtroom Advocacy.
He continues to service clients both in and outside of Newcastle – having conducted matters in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, the New England, the North Coast, the Central West, and Hunter Valley.
