Michael was called to the Bar in 2009, and has been a member of Newcastle Chambers since that time.

Michael holds degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Western Sydney, and commenced practise as a solicitor in 2006 with a suburban law firm.

Since being called to the Bar, Michael has developed extensive experience across all aspects of family law, which now constitutes the principal focus in his practise. Michael also continues to accept briefs in commercial law, common law, and inquests.

Michael has been a member of the New South Wales Bar Association’s Family Law Committee since 2020, and one of the Association’s Professional Conduct Committees since 2024. Between 2013 to 2017, Michael served as the Secretary of the Newcastle Bar Association.

Michael is consistently recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Recommended Junior Counsel in family law.

While maintaining his membership of Newcastle Chambers, Michael is also a member of Waratah Chambers in Sydney.

Michael regularly appears in courts throughout regional New South Wales and interstate.
